Paper Hearts
Just watched it again and I think it's pretty much impossible to find fault with it. It really is superb and easily top ten stuff.
The performances are great, David, Gillian, Mitch, the guy who played Roche. I love how Gillian delivers her lines, the 'prove it', 'what year?', 'drop the mind games'...her voice and face say it all, and of course you forget can't the reaction to Roche's 'You're damn right I do... if only for a day or two. I'm realistic. And more than that, I... I can't wait to see your face', what a bastard. It can be pretty difficult to create a credible bad guy, well, monster, in a 42 minute slot for TV but this episode nailed it. Of course there's David's reaction when he checks the collar bone of corpse, if that doesn't make your eyes well up then you're cold!
It's pretty much flawless and heartbreaking. This is what I love about rewatching, a real exercise in what TV can do.
On a lighter note, check out the international clips, the Japanese one is hilarious...like something from Whose Line is it Anyway. ;D And is it true DD sank that basketball shot first time?

Never Again Redux I Redux II
Argh, so many questions from Redux I & II - even basic things such as it is always Mulder's apartment that's under surveillance?! I suppose we don't see Scully's place as often throughout the series anyway.
Great tension. 'I will answer that question, sir'. I honestly felt like I needed to go back and watch the series from scratch to figure things out.

The End
I don't know why but I really enjoy this episode - I still think it could have been a good ending the series as a whole, followed by some feature length specials or movies to clear the rest up. Don't get me wrong, the following seasons had some great moments too - but this would be a cool series ending.

The first movie - Fight The Future. I actually enjoyed it a lot more than I ever have before. It actually gave me a nice idea for a third X-File movie surrounding the whole 2012 thing - I might give it a go

Anyone still watching? I'm tempted to start over. Ha, I've started over so many times - I'm sick of seeing the Pilot now. I never get too far - then I skip ahead. My housemate has my box sets right now but I watch an episode now and then. I watched Chinga recently and also Closure.

Yes there are a few episodes in the first season I'm not keen on, Ghost In The Machine, and Shadows I think, so I often skip them. I really like The Jersy Devil though, even if as an episode it's very different to what the series was to become. Also Eve is another good one.
I haven't watched any X-files for a while now, been working my way through The West Wing.
