With the lack of any news regarding Fox greenlighting the project I think a December shoot is more than a little optimistic. Even if they were to confirm it tomorrow. I'm sure it would take more than a couple of months pre-production.

20th Century is finally getting into production on "The X Files 2" with David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson set to return as FBI Special Agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully reports Coming Soon. The studio is referring to the film in casting breakdowns as "Done One" and will likely go for release sometime next year - ten years since the first film and six years since the long-running TV series finale. Shooting is scheduled to begin on December 10th in Vancouver under the direction of series creator Chris Carter. Carter and Frank Spotnitz wrote the script. I've got this from Darkhorizons. It's the second report in two weeks, and this time not coming from DD but from FOX itself! I Believe!

Great news! Actually DOES look like something is going on. If you search for the project title 'Done One' at the following Vancouver casting site... sidesexpress.com/se_index.cfm?locid=5&task=type&l=5&c=done+oneIt returns some interesting results ;D Not only that but the casting director, Corrine Mayrs is who CC used in both the series and the first movie ;D So could, Maggie Finch, Nathan Winlock, Samantha Pitney, Agent Manheim, Robert Coe, Dr. Donarra & Sefton Finch be some of the new character names?!! ;D

Hehe. What does Done One refer to, is it code for something? Interesting names if they're characters...if the script is under lock and key would this info be in the public domain though? Maybe more pre-production has occurred than we initially thought, here's hoping it's not a rush job. Welcome aboard wellmanicuredman.

You might remember me as wellmanicuredboy or just Pieter from Belgium. But I felt being 22 now, that I should get rid of the boy image. :-) Still, with all this buzz concerning the new movie, I feel like a child again!

[shadow=black,left,900]Would it be possible for us to ever forget?
Welcome back Pieter.
Sounding actually promising for a change, but as Ahab says, lets hope *cough* they're not pushing through something too quick. If you can call 10 years of saying they'd do another one, and several (how many exactly?) years off, quick.[/shadow]

Hey Pieter. A release date of 25th July 2008 is floating around www.variety.com/article/VR1117975124.html?categoryid=13&cs=1I wonder if that's a U.S. release date or a worldwide one. What is a logline, it's mentioned in the article. Hmm, even with pre and post production is this a little tight? Perhaps it's not bad though, presumably CC & Co. have been beavering on it for a while and they managed to squeeze FTF in between seasons... A few months to shoot and then post production, hopefully it won't be bogged down with CGI though I don't think TXF was too bad in that respect. I wonder what sort of marketing we can expect, the new Batman film has used viral marketing, websites with hints and clues along the way but perhaps they'll keep it hush for a while. I don't think that would be any harm, I'd like to be surprised and not see trailers that give too much away. I'm being picky now. I suppose the next news we might get will be casting. Bring it. And, surely next summer will be time for a meet up. ;D

I don't see a problem with the time. If it's going to be a standalone, dark, gloomy story, I don't think they will need the same amount of people and time as with a big spectacular SF thing as FTF.
A Seven, Silence of the limes kind of atmosphere, with a more supernatural kind of story, could be a good movie! Let's hope CC pulls it off!

I just read about this on joblo.com. One week after The Dark Knight comes out...oh my!!! I don't know if I could contain myself...now imagine if WBD was actually confirmed to appear in it...I don't know if my heart could take that much joy.
