LOL! And there was me thinking we'd converted to burgers! ;-D Budge over, I've got a pack of twinkies and another 4 pack - surely there's enough space down there for us? ;-D Haha the spoiler cupboard is sooooo the hatch!! Beware people, Locke is going to climb down to find me and ASS, wankered out of our minds and with bacon shoes! Bring it on!!!! Dyyyyyyyying to talk about the last ep!! (I watched 4 consecutive eps in a row LMAO! thought I'd best recap on the eps you sent me Andy before I watched the finale - I so missed the fact that Kate had persuaded Sun to poison Jin (grrr!) although I would gladly watch the "that's why I need 5 guns" scene a million times! ) Betty, did you pick up that the scene between Jack and Locke while they're holding flares and talking about Jack being a man of science, and Locke being a man of faith, is SOOOOOOOO the Ralph & Simon scene discussing the bulbs on the tree from LOTF! Meaning Locke is Simon (making him a jesus like figure?! eek! ).... cooooooooool! And something else made me think of LOTF, oh - Boone being a sacrifice LOL!!! Can't remember who the Boone LOTF character was, but I remember there's a link Speaking of LOTF links, bit worried about our "Piggy", as I remembered the plot in LOTF.......... hmm! Anywaay!!! theories!!!!!!!! WHAT'S UP WITH WALT?! I didn't figure it, as I always imagined that 'The Others' to be more supernatural beings (hence the 'monster' (LOLLLL at "monster eats the pilot"! ) ), but some friends I spoke to at college today (no spoilers don't worry! just theories) reckon that the "pirates" (as Rich calls them! ) who took Walt might actually be "the others", and so in that sense, the "boy" that Danielle kept saying that the Others were coming to get, was actually Walt, and not Turning Peg (/Aaron?;-D) Wooooo whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy? Would explain why they didn't turn up anyway, as they were out at sea! I'm still giggling over poor Arzt LOL! It was just so unexpected - and Hurley completely cracked me up LOL!!! Unlike some others i have spoken to, I thought it was an absolutely fantastic finale! I know now (from Requiem mainly LOL!) that the more questions and loose ends in a finale, THE BETTER!!!! I also loved the flashbacks to them all getting onto the plane in the first place! Guess we could compare that to M&S returning to their first case in Requiem! When on earth is 'Spring'?! Make it soon!!! Loads of love and twinkies, JM:) xXx

The Following contains NO spoilers that I know of, just my ramblings and thoughts.... if they turn out to be spoilers then it's pure coincidence I reckon the 'pirates' on that boat were what Danielle refers to as The Others or at least some of them (am I right in thinking there were four?) and have you noticed that Bob Marley song, Redemption that Sawyer was singing is about Pirates, redemption & freedom, sort of fits with my Pirate theory and the themes in the series. Won't say too much about The Others as thats a spoiler I'm aware of so I'll just say clear of the subject altogether to be safe As for Arzt, that explosion took me by surprise lol but why oh why did he pick probably the most sweaty, nitro leaking dynamite stick in the whole box when he knew exactly how unstable it was! Locke seemed far more picky with the ones he took, yes he saw what happened to Arzt so obviously he'd be extra careful, but you see my point. "Dude, You got some... Arzt... on you." lol Oh yeah and the hatch, my theory is there's a whole network of tunnels down there and those numbers unlock something probably....possibly...maybe Did anyone else notice how many time the lotto numbers featured in Hurleys flashback when he was rushing through the airport?

Cool idea on the tunnels with the numbers being like a combination to unlock places - wonder why it's all bad luck though? Both Hurley and Walt insist that the hatch shouldn't have been opened! Didn't catch the numbers in his flashback - wish I could watch it again now LOL! - would explain why he had about 15 minutes all to himself though LOL! Think I was too busy laughing "beeep beeep!" Pirates - definite links, if they're the Others then they probably arrived on the island originally on the Black Rock... though I still haven't figured how it got to be in the middle of the island in perfect condition LOL!! Unless of course we believe the ... oh.... rich... you've got some Arzt on you! Another thing that puzzles me about Walt (who I adore! ), is why he insisted that he had to go on the raft when his father suggested otherwise. Knowing he has these powers, did he know or sense that he would be taken? Or that it was important that he would be taken? For what good?? Wonder whether we get to meet the 16 year old Alex... * Helps herself to more beer and ponders on*

Found a fantastic review of the LOST finale in The Observer yesterday, as 'Pick Of The Day', which I cut out and kept until this morning to read over breakfast, as I didn't want to spoil myself LOL Under a great picture of Locke & Danielle, it says: ------------------------------ ESCAPE FROM FANTASY ISLANDLOST: EXODUS PARTS 2&3CHANNEL 4, 10PM & 11.05PM Well, it's the end of the very long first series of "Lost", and up until now we have been no closer to finding out what the hell is going on. How did they survive the crash? What brought them here? What invisible force is chasing them through the forest? Who are The Others? What do the numbers mean? What is with Locke's legs, already?
Never before has such a long series left so much unresolved. Quite an achievement , really. And quite a series, this story of 48 survivors (though you'd never know what, as it only ever focuses on the main 14. Why is that? What's the point of having more than 30 people we only see milling around in the background waiting to act as occasional death fodder?). Though perhaps a little frustrating at times (not another flashback sequence!), it's been tense, intense and full of suspense, packing in a couple of plane crashes, polar bears, dissapearances, murder, telepathy, dark secrets and all manner of things weird and sinister. Not to mention some of the most blush-inducing, butt-clenchingly bad Australian accents in history. You'd think with their budget they could have stretched to some decent accents.
Anyway, to recap - the raft has been launched (that can't have a happy ending, surely?) and mad French woman (is that really a French accent?) Danielle has emerged from the forest to warn the group that the black smoke means The Others are coming to kill them and their only three choices are to run, hide or die. It's a wonder anyone gets any sleep at all on that island. So the plan is for Jack, Locke, Kate and Hurley to find the dynamite hidden on the island, blow up Locke's hatch and then hide evryone in there (amid a great deal of flashback action, obviously). It doesn't seem to occur to anyone a) how they will close the hatch securely again after it's been blown to bits and b) what if the hatch, which only shuts from the inside, actually houses The Others?
But that's the thing with Lost - it manages to be brilliant while completely flawed. Roll on season two. Lizzie Tucker---------------------------------- LOL!!!! I love this article, esp as it reminds me of exactly what I was thinking last night when I sent some texts out LOL! And it's soooo true in so many ways (Sorry Danielle, love you - but where are you from again??). As for the amount of other people, it confused me at first but I think it works quite well. A lot of things they've done would seem very much unrealistic if we didn't know there were many other people there (like the building of the raft and when they put it together), as well as when Ethan was introduced. So really, they're quite crucial to the plot and is quite cleverly done, as it means that the show has room to expand quite far over future seasons, rather than restricting themselves to just 14 characters As for the flashbacks.... the swapping around got on my nerves in the beginning, but I love it now!! I always look forward to them, esp now there was the mixed flashbacks! LOL about the hatch, guess we'll have to wait and find out! .....

[shadow=black,left,900]How loud was I shouting "Noooooooooo!" When they were arguing about setting off the flair? I also figured at some point that they were worrying about the wrong boy being taken, but I think that was when they realised "The Others" were not at the smoke signal at the beach. Oh yeah & I'm with Hurley and Walt, baaaaad idea opening that hatch! (at least in the short term, world of problems opened up there.) Not convinced about the numbers significance being a password type code yet, makes no sense to broadcast them that to anyone outside the hatch. Hmmm. I am with you on thinking that it's a very large structure, possibly extending out from the island itself, not sure why I think that, but I do... I especially don't like that there was a light on in there, but Locke didn't say anything about it... I suspect he may have ended up inside there at that point, even if he doesn't remember it just now. Rec that was during the time Boone was carking it, Lock was gone for the whole time until they'd arranged the funeral/memorial service, guessing that was at least all night, possibly over 24 hrs (time frame a little fuzzy cos I only seen most of them once). Someone's in there or is still accessing it from somewhere else I'm pretty sure. Who are The Others, perhaps someone connected to the inner workings of the hatch, probably connected to Ethan, whoever he was (aaaargh Charley! You blew it by blowing him away). Anyway Russo's claims of infection, & whispering voices starting from when the group entered the Dark Territory bothers me. She's a nut job for sure, but I do wonder what happened to her team and her son, and what the hell were they doing out there in the first place? Did we ever find out, or was she very vague about the whole thing - I seem to remember she was. Pirates, maybe of a sort, but they must be land (tunnel) based for a majority of the time, and I do wonder who's out there to pirate, cos surely that would attract attention to the area, and for the most part that place is completely isolated. Didn't realise how fantastically BIG that place was till the raft was sailing away, there's a lot above and below ground to be found yet I feel. Get out there you lot, find stuff! I'd really like a time line too, cos although it feels like they've been there for ages, when you do get a time reference it's only been a few weeks it seems... Back to the point - In short I don't know what The Others significance is, or why They want Walt, why they released Claire all of a sudden (if it was them who took her & what the hell was Russo doing in amongst that story line... That was a shocker!). Guess it's going to take a lot more info coming out in the 2nd series to figure it even partially out. Good More questions, what did Kate do exactly, we've had the middle part of the story, but the actual events sending her on the run are still not known, I think there could be a common factor in everyone's past which has lead them to being on the island... Maybe. What the hell is that defence mechanism, lol it sounds mechanical, or is starting to sometimes, i.e. when it was reeling Locke in to that hole, hmmm more holes... Lost track of my own thoughts and questions now. M might I just add I need those DVD's![/shadow]

Great article. ;D Will get back to this tomorrow night. Really must get an early night just woken up after being asleep on the sofa for the last 2 hours, must have just dropped off and I'm too knacked to start thinking too hard about Lost. lol <yawn>
Yeah the numbers appeared in several scenes, Hurleys hotel room number, the numbers or combinations of them also appeared on his dashboard when his car stopped and he boarded at gate 23 in the airport. They're the ones I spotted after a rewatch this evening.

LOL when's the whole set out?? I am dying to watch the Hurley episode again because I'd love to recap on where he originally got the numbers from! That man he met who recited them to him, what was he involved with again? is there a chance he could have been linked the The Others originally? As for the tunnels, remember the hole Locke almost (stupid Jack!) went down, what if that had been one of the entrances? Thinking about it, because you asked about the defence mechanism and why the "pirates" would want to be on the Island.... Danielle/Rousseau whatever we want to call her, said it's protecting "the Island"... what if the island, with all it's "tunnels" we've decided it has, is like a whole thing in itself... like some sort of huge machine in control of something... sort of like when you think you're sitting on a rock and it turns out to be a hippopotamus I know what I mean! I was really convinced that the others were powers rather than people, and that the monster that follows them is purely in their minds. Danielle definitely proves that the island does turn you completely barmy! But remember Locke just before he got pulled into the hole? I am sooo sure he saw it! His face just before the advert was a treat, I haven't seen a look of shock like that from him ever! I was quite dissapointed with Danielle and how she started the black smoke and was the one who attacked Claire (which is so obvious that I'm kicking myself LOL! . As the sole survivor of her crew, she is definitely very cool, but I won't trust another word she says Like Kate, she seems to do everything for her own purposes, and similarly she's also obsessed with that music box, like Kate is with the aeroplane.... wonder whether there's a link.... Common factors in each of their lives.... they've all lost someone.... Stuck on that one LOL. What confuses me about the "security system" or "defence mechanism" is that it's transparent, or just generally not visible! that's what makes me think it's in their minds, but then obviously Locke was being pulled with quite a strong force. You know it kind of reminds me of the powers Walt seems to have with making things happen - I wouldn't be surprised if he had some psycho kinetic powers with which to be able to pull things. Say they need Walt for their defence mechanism? Otherwise, I was considering whether it could be some sort of gravitational force from the inner island ... Arghhh!! I think I've just created even MOREEEE questions for myself LOL!!!! Kate... gone off her REALLY bad after I figured she set Sun up to poison Jin, pretending to help her, and yet obviously just using it as an opportunity to gain a seat on the raft. How false!! I am also convinced she's in love with Sawyer, because she was so sorry to see him go, and she had the conversation with Sun about thinking you'd be happy when you find the man you love, at the time she was argueing with Sawyer. Could also have been referring to Tommy (?) though. Hmm.... Oh, and the music at the end credits really is similar to the X-files - the car scene in FTF LOL! xxx

[shadow=black,left,900] I think there could be a common factor in everyone's past which has lead them to being on the island... Maybe. The most obvious factor that connects them all is that they were all Lost in their daily lives in some way before they ever boarded the plane. Agree that the defence mechanisim definatly sounds mechanical. Strange Right sleep ;D

[shadow=black,left,900]Quick one for you, Locke's seen It before, think it was in the first 5 or so, he came face to face with It, but we cut away and didnt see what happened next. Something was different this time though, the look on his face suggested he wasnt looking at the same thing as he was before. Maybe It projects some image or feeling in your head somehow, he did say he thought it was testing him...[/shadow]

Yeah, I remembered that - another time he sort of got struck by it (is he the only one so far?) when it hit him in the back. Like you said though, this time was different cos he actually looked afraid I am worried about Locke being somewhat too willing to believe, somewhat like our Mulder at times. Just hope it doesn't get him into trouble, as I feel Jack might be worrying about it too. ("We've got a Locke problem") It would make sense if he was being tested - after all, there has to be a reason that he was given to chance to walk again, after arriving on the island! Maybe he believes it had that purpose, and of course he had the dream with the plane. Then again, due to that, Boone died, so they could possibly be using Locke, without him realising it himself Who knows....
