Just picked Millennium up again, watched Omerta from series 3. Wtf was that about, seriously? It was peculiar, a mafia boss, angels and Christmas?! Too light hearted and relatively poor, I thought.

2 more episodes of season 3 of Millennium, again nothing amazing, I thought. Band of Brothers episode 6, very good.

Oooh what is The Wire like? I've really wanted to get into it for a long time now. I'm a huge fan of Homicide: Life On The Street which is based in the same world as The Wire (it was on from 93 - 99 I think), it's by the same writers too. I've only heard good things.
Funnily enough, one of the Homicide characters apparently appeared in a recent episode of The Wire in the US, his name is Det Munch who went from Homicide LOTS and took a job with the Law and Order SVU team...it's the same Munch who interogates Byers in The Unusual Suspects (Munch was apart of the Baltimore Homicide Division at the time which is where Byers is being held).
Might all sound confusing but it makes me laugh...check out John Munch or the actual actors name Richard Belzer on imdb or Wiki. He's one of the greatest TV characters ever.

Am about 6 episodes into season 1. I like it, I've heard it might be a little slow-burning but that it really pays off. I can't say the pace has annoyed me though, it seems pretty natural in terms of what you need to know about the characters and the story arcs. I like the fact that it doesn't seem to be taking the obvious route in certain respects, non-linear but I suppose a cop or two with a drink problem and who is divorced might seem a little clichéd. Still, it's HBO so I have faith. It's not flash like CSI and it's in a shithole part of Baltimore which I think adds to it. I like all the internal wrangling that's going on, some of the higher ranking officers are complete arseholes.
Recently got a loan of Murder One series 2 off a classmate, been watching some of that with the old man and it's pretty good.

It's become my favourite TV show after X-Files. The writing is fantastic - The Wire is apparently an add on to it. I reccomend this show and then David Simons book to which it was based on - Homicide: Life on the Killing Streets ...it's not a fiction, it actually follows a real Homicide department in Baltimore for a year. Very interesting reading!
