Gee is awesome! You know the guy who plays him is royalty in an African country? Haha, really. I discovered Munch when he was in Law and Order SVU, and he became my favourite character after that. Richard Belzer, the guy who plays him has played Munch on a whole load of shows - most in US TV history. Off the top of my head, he played him on Homicide, Law and Order (which crosses over with Homicide a few times), The Wire, The X-Files (in The Usual Suspects, the Lone Gunmen episode in S5 - he interrogates Biers in the 'box'), The muppets (really), Arrested Development and Jimmy Kimmel. Probably a bunch more - it's almost become a joke now. Wiki him to see what I mean

Christ, Deputy Commissioner Harris, what a prick. Some politicking and shenanigans in The Wire as well.
I'll give Munch some Kudos in that he mentioned TXF. Can't say I'm interested in the bar subplot, tbh.

Gee is built like a tank.
I finished s2 of Homicide LOTS. Enjoyed it for the most part. My niggles, and it pains me to point them out because it's a good show, would be that there were one or two moments that veered towards sentimentality, but I think that can be forgiven because they were few and far between. Secondly, Howard and Bolander putting down cases so quickly after returning from, well, you know what. Beau's self-destructiveness had been coming for a while, but seemed well-handled. Finally, the second last episode of the series, Tim Bayliss, man, what a fucking idiot re his cousin. Interesting re the skittish relationship between the detectives, though.
If it's downhill after this then it's a shame.

If it's downhill after this then it's a shame. It's been a few years since I watched so it's difficult to really remember much. But sadly it does go downhill ... although you've still got some gems to look forward to. But the sentimental part of it because very prominent throughout, even to the point of soap opera cheesyness. I got into it for the dark undertones and nature of the early seasons partnerned with interesting characters. It loses a lot of that - I'd say towards the end of season 3. But S3 is still very good.

Hmm, changes in the writing staff, perhaps?
I really like Frank Pembleton. Sure, he's a bit arrogant, but he's a great thinker and good poleece.

I love Pembleton! He's so dry ... cracks me up! His story is probably the best from here on out actually.

Hey, I posted in here a few times this month and now the posts are gone?! Yeah, I remember reading them. Was going to reply to one of them when I got around to (which is why I came here right now). Very weird.

There was one time the other day when I wasn't able to access the board, maybe they rolled things back a bit.

Anyway, I'm on the second last disc of Homicide LOTS, s3 at the moment. Not sure I like Bayliss's beard. Watched the first series of Breaking Bad from XF alumni Vince Gilligan. Quite enjoyable and funny.

If there's anything that slightly annoys me about Homicide it's that they sometimes repeat a line of dialogue and jerk the camera, not sure what you call it. 'What did he say to you? What did he say to you?' Just how it's edited and looks. Hmm.
Weeds - fairly crap, really.
