Against All Enemies - Inside America's War on Terror. Richard A. Clarke
Started this last night, I'm enjoying it a lot, only about 4 chapters in, I have to say I think he's conveying things more eloquently and in a more convincing manner than Michael Moore did in the whole of Fahrenshite 9/11 IMO. Looking forward to the rest of it.

[glow=black,5,300]I've read that too Wiggy, from what I remember it was pretty similar, but slightly confusing when we get near the end. If I'd not seen the film I think I would have been scratching my head for a long time. Film is better according to me. This Week I've been reading a book I picked up in the states last time I went to see Mon; Starfish by Peter Watts, about some pretty weird genetically and technologically modified people working in the deepest parts of the ocean to create geothermal power stations. It's pretty weird, and not really sure where it's going just now, but I feel like I'm just about to find out. Hope so anyhow I'm halfway though! LOL Last week I read the 4th Elvis Cole detective novel by Robert Crais, I really like his books, good job too cos I bought the whole set of 12 books for £12 when I was in Hay last year If anyone's looking for something I'd recommend Demolition Angel not a detective novel, but about the bomb squad in LA. Sounds like you're well in to your non fiction books there Ahab - I cant be doing with them myself.[/glow]

I'm not trying to politically influence you ohhh noo not at all hehe xXx LMAO Jenny we were talking about them in our house the other day (before being attacked by some random Conservative supporter in a suit...he just walked in out house hhmm) I think everyone should vote for them ;D My teacher said she was reading Catcher in the rye last time I talked her I'm still on with Fight Club, I'm not in the mood to read anything too serious with violence at the mo so it's going slowly...tempted just to read the end and rent the film Oh and yeah it is by Chuck Palahniuk

[glow=black,5,300] I'd say have a go at The Da Vinci Code Jen. Ahab will probably pick this moment so say "Nooooo!" But as I've read it and he's not (or hadn't last time I spoke to him about it), I can tell you that I enjoyed it and think you would too. Perhaps not as great as everyone says, but still enjoyable none the less. CITR was one I read for GCSE when I had to retake it (serves me right for playing Bullseye for 2 years and otherwise mucking about in school, LOL stoopid ASS) can't say I remmeber much about it now , and think I manage to confuse some of the things I do remember about it with Of Mice and Men, which was one of the things I should have been reading in school when I was playing Bullseye! Didn't Catcher turn up in a Stephen King Book once? Or was it Dean Koontz? Anyway it was a compulsion of character to buy the book whenever he saw one, and the shadow government was using this to track him (but that's not why they were after him... hehe). Sorry a little random, but that leads me to their books. I enjoyed Tom Gordon, would have enjoyed it even more if someone hadn't spoilt it for me, when they saw me reading it. They were kind enough to tell me the ending while saying how much they enjoyed it. Still got a load of books still to read, I'm banning myself from buying any more till I've a) found a place to put all the books I do have, & b) have read at least 10 more. Hay fest is in May? ASS on a stripped-just-working computer with no spell check - sorry! Oh & Jen, yeah read Lightning really really good book! I was only just thinking of reading that again myself (one day). Let me know when you read it, & I'll send you some Mansize LOL! Then Demolition Angel next! [/glow]

I have about a million different reasons not to but i'm too lazy to type them on here....so i'll psychically send you them instead!! ;D In really hate the best seller books that everyone gets hyped up about....they're always crap!! Dontcha think?!!! [/glow] [glow=red,2,300]Yeh, i did CITR for GCSE aswell!! I didn't have to retake it though - despite cutting the book to shreads with a craft knife during the lessons!! ;D[/glow]

[glow=red,2,300] In really hate the best seller books that everyone gets hyped up about....they're always crap!! Dontcha think?!!! [/glow] [glow=black,5,300]So you've not read it then Betts? I did say not as great as everyone says, but still interesting and well worth a look. There were points when I was thinking - Just get on with it, I know what it is you're trying to put off saying for suspense sake. It's just not working! However asside from this point, I found the subject to be an interesting one. ;D I think you'll find that most Stephen King books end up on the best seller list too... Take a look Jen, then make up yer own mind. Re: my computer, nope not lost everything, it started to go wrong just before Glasto tickets came out, but didn't do anything then cos I needed my PC working to get my tickets. Backed up everything I cant get again to CD When you were in Wolverhampton it started to crash constantly, so over the weekend I took the plunge to re-format. Not as easy as I thought, at the mo there are things which aren't workuing quite right Tomorrow or sometime this week I'm calling in the experts to have a look. [/glow]
