Finished Dreamcatcher by Stephen King, which mentions The X-Files towards the end. Great book, about supposed grey aliens but it's actually more about the relationship between 5 friends with special connections. I haven't seem the film yet, not sure whether to either, since it might ruin the amazing world King created in my head. If you like to enjoy films, then I suggest you don't see that

Well, not this week - but recently ... I bought All My Friends are Superheroes by Andrew Kaufmann (not the late comedien). Very short so read it in a day, but I loved it - even if nothing really happens

A while back I read The Painted Man and its squeal The Desert Spear, didn't think it would be my type of thing but it was really epic. Set 300 years "After the return", that being a point in time in which demons started coming up from the core of the earth at night and savaging anyone and everything it follows 3 characters from a young age. Lots of action and good characterisation, now one of my favourite series. 3rd book is on its way.

[glow=black,2,300]Can't stop reading Lee Child Currently reading The Hard Way - reading the series in order from the start (interspacing with other stuff so I don't entireley muddle them up in my "swiss cheese" brain) and really enjoying Mr. Reacher ;D (What's not to like?)
However I am horrified at reports on the film, where they have chosen to depict this 6'5" ex-army giant in the guise of none other than shrimpish tosser Tom Cruise - Oh Come On!! *shakes head and wanders off in dissapointment...*[/glow]

Dave Gorman's America Unchained. Started it years ago but never finished it, so I will now. Just finished Naive Super by Erland Loe. Very bizarre, but I enjoyed it.

The last book I read was a Tom Clancy novel - Dead or Alive. It was alright, pretty nuts and bolts, and pacey. Prior to that, it was James Patterson's Alex Cross novels...they got worse as time went on. Oh, and the writing, sheesh. Addictive, though.

[shadow=black,left,900]Dave! Yay, read that one on my hurricane camping holiday last year, in the very small replacement tent we had to buy when the wind killed mine, and we had to shelter from the rain - frequently!
I saw that Danny has written a novel - about someone fictional doing something that sounds as silly as something that he would usually do himself and write about... dunno how I feel about that. Will probably try reading it at some point, perhaps when the paper back version is out. Yes I still read actual books, in my view reading should be an additional electricity usage free activity & I like an physical book, so resisting the 'Kindle' onslaught.
I am addicted to Lee Child (might have said that already?) but at the moment am reading the Hunger Games books, cos I decided I wanted to see the film, but not till I have read the books 1st.
Oooh and I noticed that Stephen King has released another Dark Tower book! I thought he was finished with that series, but then with him, I don't think that will ever be over. Current book not going so well, so might put that one down, and try SK's latest offering.[/shadow]

Well, considering the topic anyway. I breezed through about a quarter of it and nothing really seemed to happen. My sister has finished it though and told me that nothing really does happen considering the size of it. It is very much in a similar style of his others though ... just definitely fictional. And the paper back version has been out since May, ASSY, that's the one I have. I like using my tablet to read sometimes, but the screen strains your eyes after a while, plus I don't like the idea of my book running out of battery!
