[shadow=black,left,900]You all really really really need to start reading the Gunslinger books. I know I've said it before, and I know no one ever listens, but it's true damn it! Everything's connected, you just don't know it yet. [/shadow]

[shadow=black,left,900]Well if you're into Stephen King books then I'd say you must read them. However if you don't like reading brick-like books then you I'd also guess that you don't tend to read many SK books, but you might like them. I never used to think I was into reading until someone shoved a book in my hand with an instruction to "Read this!" When I was in college
I'd not necessarily start with The Gunslinger if you've not read SK before, try something like Firestarter (not such a very long book), or if you're feeling a little more adventurous Dreamcatcher (very X-F style content, you'd enjoy it I'm sure), if you like it read some more.
If you continue reading his stuff, you'll find that there are running themes through a lot of SK's books (though not the 2 I've mentioned so much) which are all linked with The Gunslinger/Dark Tower books, once you start reading the series, and his other work, the more you read the more you see and understand about the stories & how they're linked and indeed SK's writing & the man himself.
Oh and I'm reading Mr. X - Peter Straub[/shadow]

have moved onto SK's "on fiction", which I'm inlove with already!!! You've got to read it, even if just the first 50 pages to find out about the "POW!" babysitter lmao!!!! Hey! I've got that from the library. Guess I'd better read it then. I've picked up Charmian Hussey's 'The Valley of Secrets' again and am trying to finish it before I have to take it back to the library next week!

Andrey Kurkov's The Death and The Penguin.....it's a really interesting read, I'm really enjoying it. Though I've been reading it whilst out in garden because of the sun, which is weird as it's winter in the book....meh!

Kurkov's Death and The Penguin was awesome, I've since read two more of his books...it's soviet fiction and damn good...totally different from any other author I've read.

[shadow=black,left,900]See how much we care... about 3 weeks of silence speaks volumes!
Can't remember what the last thing I said I was reading on here, but I finished it whatever it was. Stuck into Dan Brown's Digital Fortress at the moment - and yes Ahab you were right it's the same story and characters as The Da Vinci Code, just different names and slightly varied context, the whole plot so far seems strangely familiar. Having said that, it's still enjoyable enough - and so far I've not been driven to shout at my book as "The Big Twist" is dragged out for another chapter or 4 when you've already seen right through it. Oh well.[/shadow]
